The countless emails I get from NYU and NYU alumni association was always ignored and disregarded. But my move back to NYC prompted me to see what kinds of events were happening in the city, as I now was in approximate distance to attend. Luckily, an alumni event was happening soon, and so I registered immediately. I then emailed my professor who was still at NYU (other professors either had moved to other schools or were adjunct professors) and then asked if he planned to attend the event. He said he was and that he was looking forward to seeing me. I had taken two classes from this professor in my undergrad, and this was also the very professor who wrote me a recommendation letter so that I could attend grad school. Finally, the day came, and I have a photo of us to prove it! The box he is holding is a gift of socks from me to him, thanking him for the recommendation letter!
