Maybe the only thing worth quitting my job for is furthering my own education. I had always wanted to get my master’s degree, but I was always conflicted on what major I would study and if I wanted to “waste” another couple hundred thousand dollars on education. NYU was something I would have never been able to afford if I hadn’t been 18 and so unknowing of the concept of money. One day, I set my mind on applying to any graduate school. My goal was not to attend a certain school, but it was actually to attend any school so that I could move to the East coast. At the time, it was April and all application deadlines had passed but one. Teachers College at Columbia University was still taking late applications. I applied and heard back a month or two later. I was thrilled but also scared to back to school. I strongly believed I had forgotten how to do homework, read for comprehension, study for exams, and write a cohesive paper. Aside from these educational barriers, could I really go to school with 24 and 25-year-olds? Would they let me in on their social events? The answer is YES. I thank @jisoo @dayeon @sarah @yeji for always playing with me and letting me be a part of everything you guys do! I thank @rebecca @maggie @lori for going out to ktown with me and celebrating my 30th with me! Going back to school was maybe one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. Teachers College was another wise decision. I love the program I’m in, I love my professors, I love what I study, and I especially love that this experience led me to form a passion!
