Many people get complacent after landing a job that they feel comfortable in. I was guilty of this too, as my job in Korea was amazing. I was a grade 2 (equivalent of 11th grade) high school English teacher. Not only was I getting paid more than my coworkers, I was paid for after school and night classes on top of my salary. The teacher that sat next to my office space was also my best friend, making work so much better in all aspects. I had 3 months of winter break off, 1 month of summer break off, midterm exam and final exam periods off, all holidays off, and even school-related holidays off. I used most of these days to travel abroad and especially during exam periods, flights were cheap because no one else was off during those days. I loved what I did, and I loved teaching my students. My student made me younger and I made them smarter. It was a double win for us and I had no intention of quitting. But one day, I decided to quit and start something completely new outside of my comfort zone.
