33. Decorate and renovate

Each time I moved apartments, I’d decorate my room to the extent that I could. But I had always drooled over Architectural Digest and dreamed of decorating my own home. Although that part might have to be fulfilled in my 30s, I’ve decided to renovate my parents’ old home in Virginia after deciding to move back to the suburbs after graduation. I started with patching the walls, sandpapering places uneven surfaces, and making trips to home depot every week to find the perfect color paint for each room. YJ has done mostly all the hard work and I’m probably more of an assistant, but we have thus far made our 26-year-old home look a little bit cleaner and a little bit more modern. We still have a lot to complete but we are taking our time enjoying every renovation and décor plan!
