Traveling all over the world is probably on everyone’s bucket list. As my teaching job gave me months off at a time during the summer and winter seasons, I took every advantage I could take to travel and see the world that I lived in. At first, I didn’t know where to start. Slowly, I found my own little hacks in traveling and made sure I got the most out of my trips. My hacks aren’t that special actually, they’re very casual things that I found to help me get most of my experiences. For example, I would look up on famous touristy places and amusement parks on google, star them on my google map, and map out my days according to their geographical location. Another would be to visit cities where I may know a friend or knew a friend of a friend’s, so that I could get local recommendations and maybe a personal tour. I found that traveling to multiple locations that are nearby, despite if they were on my bucket list, were economically reasonable, rather than go to the locations I wanted to go during inconvenient times. For instance, Paris to Brussels to Amsterdam was an obvious route due to their convenient proximity, although I wanted to go to Oslo. Well, I made sure to do at least one enchanting and compelling experience wherever I went. If the location offered a certain type of natural setting or cultural participation, it would be one of my priorities during my trip. In Palawan, I made sure to visit the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, which was a World Heritage Site in the form of an underground river in a cave. In Nicaragua, I made sure to visit the island of Ometepe, which is known for its twin volcanoes. Every location has something unique to offer, and despite the effort and time that it took, when you prioritize the experience not offered in the place you reside, that’s when you discover what travel is about.
If you look under the "Travel" "Explore" "Discover" and "Cherish" tabs, you can see more of my photos from my travels!
