In Korea, “road trip” is not really a popular notion due to the fact that there is always heavy traffic and public transportation is beyond what they have in any American mega city. The closest thing to a road trip I had taken in Korea was a 3 hour drive to 강원도 and that was about the extent of my road trips. After moving back to America in my late 20s I decided I wanted to take a road trip! I first started with Montreal and Quebec, which was about an 8-hour drive from New York City to Quebec, stopping by Montreal on the way up and stopping by places in Vermont and Connecticut on the way down. The second road trip I took was to Rhode Island, due to my long-lost dream of going to Rhode Island School of Design. I had always dreamed of going to this school, but my Mom had other hopes for me. Despite getting into RISD, my Mom sent me to NYU (which I do not regret at all!). Hence a longing for Rhode Island never left me. The third and most recent road trip I took was to Niagara Falls, stopping by multiple state parks, and discovering New York beyond the five boroughs.
