My mom always taught me that interest was a scary thing. I grew up not knowing how scary it was because she always prevented me from facing it. When I lived in Korea, I could not apply for a credit card because I technically had a foreigner status and had no credit history. I ended up with only debit cards, which got me in the practice of only spending what I could afford. Even to this day, although I discovered the alluring captivation of credit card points, I still only spend what I can afford and prevent the balance to rack up. Although grad school has completely obliterated my hopes of being a millionaire one day, hopefully I will land a job soon after graduation!
